WhatsApp for Android will allow you to share group invitations through QR codes
Now that the dark theme of WhatsApp has reached the whole world, we see how the company prepares for the launch of another novelty that would come close to its application and is related to the group invitation links.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android hides a function that will allow us to share a group through a QR code. This option is not yet available, but the guys at WABetaInfo have managed to activate it to show us their first screenshots.
QR code to enter a WhatsApp group
If we are an administrator, in the Group Invitation Link options we will soon find the new option to generate the invitation link through a QR code that will be displayed on the screen.
When displaying the QR code, the application tells us that our friends can scan that code directly from the WhatsApp camera itself, so they would not have to use any other application to read the QR. At the moment the WhatsApp camera is not able to read QR codes, except in the “WhatsApp Web” option.
WhatsApp QR codes will be another option to invite friends and family to your WhatsApp groups. If you do not have your phone number, you will only have to show that code to join.

Currently, it is possible to create and join WhatsApp groups with QR codes, but not from the application itself but using third-party applications to convert the link into code and then another application to read the code. Soon you can perform both actions without leaving WhatsApp.
